Mahwah Police Department’s K9 Rino will receive a bullet and stab protective vest thanks to a charitable donation from the non-profit organization Vested Interest in K9s, Inc.

The Mahwah Police Department is honored to support Mental Health Awareness Month along with the Bergen County Juvenile Officers Association which spearheaded an initiative with multiple agencies, including the Bergen County Police Chiefs Association, the Bergen County Prevention Coalition, and Alumni in Recovery. That initiative, a PSA video entitled "BREATHE", is available to you now.

The Mahwah Police Department is pleased to announce our new officer: K-9 Rino. He is an eleven-month-old German Shepherd excited to begin his work serving and protecting our residents. He and his partner, K-9 Officer Sean Hayes will begin their training in Narcotic Detection next week. We wish our K-9 Unit nothing but success as they get to work forming that bond between dog and handler.
